1 fixing a smile line cant or midline discrepancy ?
Pending on pt main concerns and how significant the discrepancy is, CANT aesthetically more recognizable than midline however think mid line is also important as it can appear skewed and difficult and more invasive to correct with other cosmetic options i.e. venners- would need to get at least 6 to 10 teeth with veneers to improve/correct if possible. Studies have shown that midline is of “less importance” than a facial/dental cant (Shyagali et al 2008). However, I’d be suggesting that a part of your initial interview with patient that this is all discussed prior to treatment as it is an easy way to get caught out if the patient wants/has the expectation that the midline be corrected.
