What are the costs to the patient for clear aligners? What is the structure of the charges to inform patients of?
This varies in the industry so much. A full case of clear aligners can range from $5,000 to up to and in excess of $8,000.
A couple of years ago it was common for patients to pay approx $300 to have the treatment assessed and the treatment plan created for their clear aligner case, including digital video simulation. This was then deducted from their overall treatment price.
These days as competition increases, patients can be put off by having to pay items up front before even seeing what results can be achieved and it is actually becoming more common to see free diagnosing being offered to give the practice the opportunity to show the patient the predicted outcome before they place any funds on the table.
